Advisories for Chingay Parade

Behold the Chingay Parade Singapore 2014. The magnificent parade is expected to draw many people and guests. It will be held at F1 Pit Building on February 7-8, 2014. If you want to witness the grandeur of the floats, you should be advised that certain roads will be closed. You should also expect traffic diversions from February 7-8. You should know about the following things:

Road Closures

On Friday (February 7) and Saturday (February 8), there are certain roads that will be closed. For example, the Republic Boulevard and Raffles Avenue (in the middle of Republic Avenue and Temasek Avenue) will be shut from 6pm-12mn. One lane in Raffles Avenue (in the middle of Bayfront Avenue & Esplanade Driveway) will be shut from 9pm-11:30pm.

Public Transport Selections

If you want to ride the Singapore Flyer, you can access it because it will not be affected. For public bus service that will pass along the Temasek Avenue to Raffles Avenue and Esplanade Theatre bus stops, commuters can enjoy no disruption of service. But for public bus service that will pass in Raffles Avenue Floating Platform, it will be shut from 9pm-11:30pm.

Security and Safety

The public should know that there will be many APOs (Auxiliary Police Officers) to be deployed to guarantee the security and safety of the public. Apart from APOs, there will also be security officers to control the traffic and crowd. Expect for inspections of bags and other personal items to ensure the safety of the place.

Authorities are recommending the people who are attending the parade to travel via public transport. If you consider the MRT, you can consider the Promenade, Esplanade, City Hall, Nicoll Highway and Bayfront Stations.
